Blizzard has announced the launch of Battle for Olympus, a new limited-time mode for the upcoming Overwatch 2 game. The event will take place from January 5th to 19th, and will feature a Greek mythology theme, as evident from the name and the ongoing Season 2.

The trailer showcases several heroes, all in Greek-inspired skins, including Junker Queen, Roadhog, Pharah, Lucio, Ramattra, Widowmaker, and Reinhardt. The trailer also features a montage of all the heroes with slogans such as “Unleash the Power of the Gods” appearing on the screen. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to earn rewards by playing in this event.

From the trailer, it appears that in this limited-time mode, each of the heroes will have additional powers based on specific Greek gods when their ultimate is activated. For instance, the trailer shows Junker Queen in her Zeus-inspired skin, attacking enemies with lightning, while Widowmaker, in her Medusa-inspired skin, turns Reinhardt into stone with her scope.

The balance of power on Olympus is set to change.

Overwatch 2 is a free-to-play game that can be downloaded on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
